RR4TROOPS BEGINS!
Hello! My name is Brooke and I am doing this project with one of my best friends, Dorothy. We are sophmores at Venice High School and are teammates on and off the volleyball court. We have been inspired through history class and personal experiences to start a service project that we hope will become a huge help to our military. Our project is called RR4Troops which means Reading and Relaxing For the Troops! My cousin is actually in the Marines and makes me want to succeed tremendously in our goal. It has come to our attention that our troops are wanting for the basic necessities. While we know that there is support for our troops, there is also a need for what they want most, some of the comforts of home. The reason we called the project Read and Relax is because the units we were able to contact frequently requested reading materials, personal comfort items, and snacks. We are asking for donations of magazines, paperback books, personal hygiene items, and snacks. We mail each box through the United States Postal Service at a flat rate of $8.95. You could also sponsor the cost of the packages. The most personal things we are asking for are letters to let our troops know we care. In these small gestures of support, we can make a difference in the daily lives of our troops serving in the war! Thank you so much for your help!!!!!
